- Discover You™ is an evidence based education and workforce readiness program designed to help students in grades 6 through 12 and early post secondary education develop the soft skills needed for long term success in school, the workforce, and their communities. The program focuses on strengthening communication, problem solving, teamwork, conflict resolution, and self management, skills that employers consistently identify as critical for hiring and retention. By improving these abilities, Discover You™ helps strengthen Michigan’s workforce pipeline, increases student engagement in school, and supports stronger academic outcomes such as improved attendance, better relationships with peers and teachers, and higher graduation rates. The program also serves as a preventative investment by helping students build resilience, emotional regulation, and supportive networks, which can reduce risky behaviors such as bullying, substance misuse, and other challenges affecting youth today. Through its cost effective train and impact model, schools can implement the program without adding additional burdens to educators or long term staffing costs. Independent academic research conducted in 2024 found that students who participate in Discover You™ show statistically significant growth in relationship skills and developmental assets, outcomes linked to improved school engagement, workforce readiness, and reduced involvement in high risk behaviors. Overall, Discover You™ helps prepare Michigan students to succeed academically, professionally, and personally while strengthening the state’s future workforce.
