Founded in 1854, the Grand Rapids Public Museum is the oldest museum in the State of Michigan. It is governed by a non-profit board and provides education and access to the history, science and culture of the region for the public. The funding requested will meet community demand for increased engagement with artifacts and specimens as well as additional public gathering spaces for the over 300,000 visitors annually.
