- Delta College is a Michigan community college, serving the Great Lakes Bay Region, including Bay, Midland, and Saginaw counties. With enrollments of 8,580 students, we offer certificates and 2-year associate degrees leading to the credentials needed for employment. We collaborate with industry partners to ensure our content is employer-centric, with the ability to train residents for good paying jobs in the region. Working with Saginaw Future, the county’s economic development organization, we recognize the need to train and retrain residents for emerging opportunities within the tier-one automotive supplier base as well as the broader advanced manufacturing sector. These industries are experiencing growth and evolving skill requirements, creating strong demand for a workforce that is technically trained and job-ready. By aligning training programs with these needs, we can quickly move individuals into the talent pipeline and connect them to high-quality employment opportunities. The college has 97,580 sq. ft. dedicated to skilled trades teaching labs, where it offers instruction in many career tracks such as welding, Computer Numeric Control (CNC), Programmable Logic Computers (PLC), HVAC, Chemical Processing, automotive, and many other programs. Delta College offers high quality instruction, state-of-the-art facilities, apprenticeships, and co-op experiences. We have a long-standing relationship with the Mid-Michigan Manufacturing Association and other appropriate groups to upskill the workforce to meet changing technology and skill set demands. And we develop appropriate hands-on training to meet regional industry needs. Delta College has strong skilled trades and manufacturing training programs, and will develop the industry training needed to fill the talent pipeline. There are multiple industry partnerships where employers contribute expertise to curriculum development and companies provide equipment donations. These labs are used to educate academic students, retrain dislocated workers and upgrade incumbent worker’s skills.
